The Online Document Security Validator
or "ODSV", is a Utility that
will traverse your website that stores
electronic documents for the public and
verify which documents that should not
be available to the public are available
for viewing. It is intended to gather
information for your organization or agency and output it
to a
report, so these documents may be
secured from the casual viewer or hobbyist
hacker.
Common usage would be to protect county
websites using paperless document
storage and retrieval systems, that
allow certain documents to be viewed
online, such as tax, court records,
death certificates, etc. A vast majority
of these documents contain data that
most State and Federal laws protect for
privacy / identity theft reasons. This
product is only available to County,
State, or Federal agencies.
