Software Licensing

NOTICE OF SOFTWARE LICENSING CHANGE.
      Due to a variety of reasons, including; Development Software costs, Hardware Maintenance costs, Software Engineering time, Replacement Parts for my project 1988 Jeep© Wrangler®, Baby Diapers, etc., I will be changing my current Software Licensing structure. There are various software titles that have been available free of charge and have required extensive attention (program development, feature requests, product support, hand-holding, etc.) and time away from other projects/responsibilities.




FreeWare
      This is software that you can download, try and decide whether or not it's right for you. There is generally no support for these programs and program updates come whenever I find a spare moment.

      You are free to use it in both a "home user" and "business" setting. Redistribution in binary form is permitted ONLY for the original, unmodified software package.


DonationWare
      This is software that you can download, try and decide whether or not it's right for you. If you like it, you may donate whatever you feel is appropriate for the program, there may be a minimum donation amount. There is generally no support for these programs and program updates come whenever I find a spare moment. Though support and updates for popular programs (hint, hint - receive donations) will be more frequent.

      You are free to use it in "home user" setting. If the software package is to be used in a "business" setting, contact us with the details for our approval in this setting. Redistribution in binary form is permitted ONLY for the original, unmodified software package.


TrialWare
      This is software that you can download, try and decide whether or not it's right for you. If you like it, you pay a nominal fee for the fully operational program. If you don't want to keep it, trialware programs will stop functioning after a period of time. There is support and frequent updates available for these programs, as there is more incentive (hint: $$, rather than the last remnants of kindness from my cold, stony heart) to develop these programs.

      You may use it, after paying the registration fee, in both a "home user" and "business" setting. Redistribution of the Registered version of the software package is not permitted under any circumstances. Redistribution of the TrialWare version is permitted ONLY for the original, unmodified software package.


LeaseWare
      This is software that you can "lease" for a given period of time and is usually only distributed via CD. It is a fully operational program and may be used during the "lease" period, at the end of which, continued usage requires a renewal of the "lease". This licensing plan is similar to many vendors maintenance plans for their products.
